O'Diam, CELA, is a dually Certified Specialist in Elder Law by the OSBA and the National Elder Law Foundation, and she is also an OSBA Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law. Brittany concentrates her practice on estate planning, estate administration, guardianships, Medicaid, asset protection, special needs planning and elder law. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (Past-President, Ohio Chapter); ElderCounsel, LLC, a national network of elder law attorneys; WealthCounsel, LLC, a national organization of estate planning attorneys; Ohio State Bar Association (Vice Chair, Elder & Special Needs Law Section); Florida Bar Association, Dayton Bar Association (Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Committee; and Greene County Bar Association. Brittany also serves as an Ohio Department of Medicaid Stakeholder Liaison, the Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Disability Foundation, and a member of the Business Advisory Council for the Greene County Educational Services Center.
Brittany devotes much of her time to educating the public as well as professional advisors and service organizations about estate planning, as well as the options available to help the elderly and special needs population. She received her BS in Journalism cum laude from Ohio University, and her JD cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law. She is licensed to practice in both Ohio and Florida, and she lives in Beavercreek, Ohio with her husband and their two children.
Olivia G.A. Goodwin
Olivia G.A. Goodwin is an attorney practicing with the Sydney offices of Durnell Maier Law, LLC.
She obtained her undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Psychology from Bethany College in Bethany, WV, graduating first in her class, with Summa Cum Laude honors, before receiving her Juris Doctorate from Dayton University.

Kyler Joe Palmer joined the law firm of McCulloch, Felger, Fite & Gutmann in May 2022 after graduating from the University of Dayton School of Law. While in law school, he was on the University of Dayton Law Review and served as president of the Intellectual Property Law Society. Before law school, Kyler obtained a degree in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University and completed graduate-level coursework at Harvard University. Kyler is licensed to practice law in Maine and Ohio.
Kyler’s areas of practice include probate and trust administration, estate planning, civil litigation, business and commercial law, real estate, and appellate law. He also assists with civil legal matters and criminal prosecution for the City of Piqua and the Village of Covington.
Being an avid writer and legal scholar, Kyler has published several articles in various academic journals – including the DePaul Journal for Social Justice and the University of Dayton Law Review. His scholarship mainly focuses on the intersection of the First Amendment and the Fourteenth Amendment.
As a member of both the Miami County Bar Association and the Dayton Bar Association, Kyler is extremely active in the Miami Valley legal community. Notably, in May 2022, he co-led a presentation before the DBA Carl D. Kessler Inn of Court, to which he is a member, titled “Social Media and Litigation – What Practitioners Need to Know.”
When Kyler is not counseling clients or researching the law, he can be found traveling or rooting for his favorite sports teams – the Philadelphia Phillies and the Texas A&M Aggies.
Jaclyn A. Palumbo, Esq., is a partner in the Akron law firm of Palumbo & Sweet LLC, with a practice focused in the areas of elder law and estate planning.
Practicing since 2014, she has helped more than 500 clients navigate the complexities of the elder law and estate planning. Prior legal practice areas include divorce, small business, juvenile law, criminal law, and probate work. Because of her extensive experience in other areas of law, she is uniquely equipped to manage clients’ legal needs as they change throughout a case (which they often do).
Estate planning and Medicaid issues can be very complex and terrifying for clients. The blend of emotions, complex paperwork, and tough decisions can render families paralyzed in fear. Palumbo is passionate about helping clients navigate these legal issues.
All estate plans and Medicaid issues are unique, and Palumbo enjoys using her creativity to design plans that help families achieve their personal and financial goals. She believes no legal issues are ever too big or too small.
Attorney Palumbo currently serves on the following boards: the Greater East Ohio Area Alzheimer’s Association, the Akron Law Alumni Board, and the Board for Athena Akron. Meg Pauken, Esq., is the founder Pauken Legal Services LLC.
Ms. Pauken draws on over 20 years of experience as a lawyer to provide wise and compassionate advice, unique to each client’s personal and family situation. Ms. Pauken started her career in a small firm, in general practice. Later she settled into family law, which included estate planning and probate, as well.
As a family law attorney, Ms. Pauken focused on a collaborative practice model, working with families to negotiate the best possible resolution in difficult circumstances. Over time, her practice has shifted to the planning aspect of representing families. Ms. Pauken helps her clients plan for the preservation and distribution of their assets, often through the use of trusts. She advises clients when a spouse or elderly family member is facing admission to a nursing home or long-term care facility, helping them navigate the often-confusing world of Medicaid eligibility and asset preservation.
Janet E. Pecquet, Esq., practices in the area of Elder Law, primarily focusing on planning for Medicaid eligibility. Having represented hundreds of consumers before the Medicaid Agency, she has provided help for individuals who are institutionalized in a nursing or assisted living facility, or that are living at home and seeking home and community-based care.
She also advises individuals and parents of children with special needs on estate planning and special needs trusts, as well as focuses on long-term care insurance and private insurance denials.
Ms. Pecquet received her Law Degree from Southwestern University in 1980, where she was a member of the Law Review. She also received her Bachelor of Arts from California State University at Long Beach.
She is a frequent speaker on Elder Law matters and participates in various community organizations involved in providing services to consumers who are aged and have special needs.
